Dixon takes P1 in morning warmup at IMS – Chip Ganassi Racing Teams’ Scott Dixon’s lap of 1:10.8157 topped the charts in the INDYCAR Grand Prix morning warmup on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course. On-car digital displays won’t be used at IMS – RACER’s Marshall Pruett reports the digital displays on the cars of the Verizon IndyCar Series won’t be in use at either race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. “Teams have been instructed to remove the SPAA05 panels from the roll hoop fairings and the associated loom and control box from each entry for the Grand Prix of Indianapolis and Indy 500 due to widespread issues that were experienced with the panel hardware during recent Speedway tests.” Full story at the link. – RACER – (5/10/2018)

Juncos announces Celis Jr. will make IndyCar debut at Road America and not continue in Lights – “Juncos Racing announced today that Alfonso Celis Jr. will move up within the team from the Indy Lights Championship Presented by Cooper Tires to the Verizon IndyCar Series. Celis Jr. will make his official debut in the Verizon IndyCar Series at Road America. Celis Jr. (Mexico City, Mexico) will pilot the No. 32 Chevrolet/Juncos Racing car on the 4-mile, 14 Turn road course located at Road America this June. Claman De Melo to replace Fittipaldi for INDYCAR Grand Prix – “Zachary Claman De Melo will be returning behind the wheel of the #19 Paysafe car sooner than initially planned. The Canadian will be piloting the Dale Coyne Racing entry at this weekend’s INDYCAR Grand Prix, replacing the injured Pietro Fittipaldi. Fittipaldi was originally scheduled to take part in his second Verizon IndyCar Series race at this weekend’s road course event at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
